Stephanie Sandler specializes in women’s issues (including anxiety and depression as it relates to the adjustment to motherhood and coping with loss, eating disorders, childhood/sexual trauma, and substance abuse), couples and family work, and group therapy. She has experience working in a multitude of settings including inpatient hospitals and community counseling centers, and extensive training in a variety of modalities (including CBT, DBT, and short-term trauma therapy) with individuals, couples, and groups, in populations ranging from adolescents to adults. She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Kent State University and an MA in Clinical Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. She views therapy as an opportunity for individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings, develop healthy coping skills, receive support and resources to overcome daily challenges, and work toward personal goals.
